Using Flash
Although search engines like FAST/AlltheWeb are making great
strides in indexing Flash content, most search engine spiders
are still unable to properly index Flash content. Search engine
spiders are designed to read text and ignore images, so placing
the majority of your site's content in a Flash file leaves
most search engines without much content to read and use to
determine your site's ranking.
The easiest way to solve this problem is to provide the Flash
movie or file as an optional link off of an HTML-based web
page. This allows the search engines to spider the content
of the page without trying to work around a Flash file.
If you absolutely must have a Flash intensive page, one work
around is to place the Flash file in a page with a 100% frameset
and optimize the < noframes > tag with textual content
for the search engine's spider to read.
